Assessments explore each client’s learning, social, emotional, and behavioral functioning to develop a holistic understanding of their strengths and areas for growth. Every evaluation is personalized to provide meaningful insight and practical, evidence-based recommendations for improvement.

These assessments measure how an individual processes verbal and non-verbal information and reasons through problems. Standardized cognitive tests are used to identify intellectual strengths, learning potential, and giftedness. The results provide valuable information about how a person thinks, learns, and approaches new challenges.

Learning assessments provide a comprehensive picture of an individual’s cognitive, academic, adaptive, and social-emotional functioning. They typically include standardized testing, clinical interviews, checklists, and structured observations. This process helps identify the underlying factors that may be affecting learning, attention, or motivation and leads to targeted, practical recommendations to support academic growth and overall learning success.

Social and emotional assessments help clarify how an individual understands and manages emotions, relates to others, and navigates daily different social situations. These evaluations examine areas such as empathy, communication, self-esteem, and emotional regulation. The results guide personalized strategies to strengthen social skills, improve relationships, and support emotional well-being.

These assessments explore behavioral patterns such as attention difficulties, impulsivity, emotional outbursts, and social challenges. They incorporate measures of self-concept, anxiety, and related emotional concerns, as well as sensory screenings, adaptive functioning questionnaires, and when appropriate, the ADOS-2 (Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule). By identifying the factors driving certain behaviors, I can develop individualized intervention plans that promote positive behavior, self-regulation, and social-emotional growth.
The process begins with an initial consultation to discuss the main concerns and reasons for the assessment. With informed written consent, clients or parents meet with Paola to complete a detailed developmental history and intake interview. This conversation helps identify the client’s unique strengths, challenges, and goals, ensuring that the assessment is tailored to their specific needs.
Following the intake, the client completes a series of standardized tests that measure academic and reasoning skills, intellectual ability, memory, attention, and executive functions. The testing process is flexible and adapted to each individual’s pace and comfort level, typically lasting between four and six hours.
To develop a holistic understanding of the client, this stage includes interviews and questionnaires for the client, parents, and teachers (when applicable). These tools help explore areas such as emotional regulation, social functioning, and behavior in different settings. Gathering multiple perspectives ensures a more complete picture of the client’s strengths and areas for growth.
Once the assessment is complete, all test results, interview insights, and questionnaire findings are carefully interpreted and integrated into a comprehensive written report. The report highlights key findings, outlines areas of strength and need, and provides clear, evidence-based recommendations for school accommodations, learning supports, and strategies for home and daily life.
Finally, the client—and parents, when appropriate—meet with Paola to review the results and discuss the report in detail. During this session, Paola explains the findings, clarifies recommendations, and answers any questions. This collaborative discussion ensures that clients and families leave with a clear understanding of the results and a practical plan to move forward.
